Three volumes complete as published; pp. 324; 392; 360; with 66 fine colour chromolithographic plates on heavy paper with tissue guards, numerous other fine b/w llustrations, beautifully printed on heavy laid paper. Original green-blue cloth bindings with gilt lettering. Top edges gilt, other edges uncut. Bindings very good and strong with a little general wear, cloth very slightly marked; light knock to the fore-edge of vol. II which also has a small scuff to head of front joint; vol. III with very small rubbed area to head of the spine. Contents clean and tight, no inscriptions, some pages toned (depending on the original paper used), a little foxing and browning to some tissue guards, plates bright and fresh, slight dust marking to a few uncut page edges. A very good copy of this lavish work, seemingly produced with little regard to cost. . First Edition. Hardcover. Very Good. Sm Folio (24 x 32cm).
