Part of Pavlishchev's Geography, on which he worked in the then provincial city of Warsaw. The work includes interesting facts and statistics about European powers, and their influence worldwide. A fresh copy of the first edition. The historian Nikolay Pavlishchev (1801-79) served in Poland about 40 years and published important works on Poland, Ukraine and Russia. When he was 24, he developed a close relationship with the slightly older Pushkin and married the poet's sister, Olga Sergeevna, three years later in 1828. [Attributes: First Edition; Hard Cover]
