Vol.1: xii, vi, 435 pages w 170 illustrations. / Vol.2: viii, 468 pages w 187 illustrations. / Vol.3: viii, 512 pages w 199 illustrations. Three volumes in uniform half calf with gilt and blind decorations to boards and spine. Gilt title and volume numbers on spine. Marbled end papers. Very good condition. Boards, corners and spine rubbed and bumped. Joints and hinges started to crack / open. Edges age darkened. Internally age darkened with some browning (especially volume 1) and foxing throughout. Label with name of previous owner (John Galbraith) glued to front paste downs. Some dog ears and closed tears. Provenance: From the library of Edmund Downey, Publisher, London & Waterford.
