- Antique print, titled: 'Vue Perspective des bords de la Nera en descendant la Riviere entre le Palais d' hiver de sa Majeste Imperiale et les Batimens de l' Academie des sciences a Petersburg. ' - This print shows a view of the edges of the River Nera down between the Winter Palace and the Majesty buildings of the Academy of Sciences St. Petersburg. Engraving / etching with original hand colouring. on hand laid paper. Description: Original antique print published in Paris ca. 1770. This is an optical print, also called 'vue optique' or 'vue d'optique', which were made to be viewed through a Zograscope, or other devices of convex lens and mirrors, all of which produced an optical illusion of depth.Artists and Engravers: Anonymous. Condition: Good, given age. A dampstain in the top left margin and in print and a stain in the middle of the print. Needs further restauration. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully. Storage location: RC-E1-30 The overall size is ca. 17.5 x 12.4 inch. The image size is ca. 15.1 x 8.9 inch. The overall size is ca. 44.5 x 31.5 cm. The image size is ca. 38.3 x 22.5 cm.
