From 'Racolta di 12, paesi . Dal Marco Ricci.' Proof before the address of Joseph Wagner. Artists and Engravers: Made by I. Jampiccoli after M. Ricci. Giuliano Giampiccoli (Belluno; 1698-1759) was an Italian engraver. Giampiccoli is the nephew of the painter Marco Ricci (1676-1730). Around 1735, he moved to Venice, where he worked for the publisher Joseph Wagner, and in 1740 he took charge of the department of copper engraving of printer Remondini in Bassano. His most important work was the series of landscape after Ricci (36 landscapes with two frontispieces) published in 1740 and republished with additions in 1775 by Teodoro Viero ( 4 frontispieces and 48 landscapes). 42 of these prints were engraved in collaboration with Giambattista Tiepolo. Condition: Very good, given age. Folds around the image from previous framing. Some stains in the left margin just outside the platemark. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully. Storage location: TPCLA-P6-18 TPC The overall size is ca. 24 x 18.7 inch.
