Late 19th century. This collection of thirteen albumen portraits includes a portrait of a Chinese man in a Chinese coat with a Westerner style collar; a Chinese woman standing with her hand resting on a small Chinese table; three photographs of Japanese women in kimonos; six portraits of European men and a portrait of a European baby.The studios represented in this collection are L.F. Fisler (1); Hing Qua (1); Sanders (3); T. Suzuki Japanese Photographer Shanghai (3); Y.E. Chung (1); Ying Cheong (3).Fading on some photographs, with one image quite faded, some scuffing on two and some occasional marking. Most cards measure approximately 6.3 x 10.5cm though two from the studio of T. Suzuki measure 7 x 11cm. From the collection of Hong Kong historian, author and collector Arthur Hacker.
