By Chandos Leigh, first Baron Leigh (1791-1850), poet and literary patron, relative of Jane Austen and Sir Egerton Brydges, who together with Mary Shelley gave private financial assistance to Leigh Hunt. Chandos Leigh was a champion of free trade and liberal policies and his Tracts> clearly reflect these views.
