Housed in a three quarter red morocco clamshell box.Text block mildly toned but without spotting, blank flyleaf expertly replaced, some minor wear and handling. Generally a bright copy, text block a little toned as usual, backstrip mildly sunned. A clean, bright example. Formerly the property of Rene de Chochor, director of the estate of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, whose main responsibility was to negotiate all the many contracts for cinema and ensure that copyrights were respected. Provenance; Ex-Christies, London, sale 4074, lot 255.
