'The Kitâb al-Ridda wa'l-Futûh, the work of one of the earliest Abbasid historians, has until now only been known through quotations in the works of Ibn Hajar and al'Tabarî. Dr Qasim Al-Samarrai has recently discovered a 13th-century manuscript which contains approximately the last sixth part of the original text, a fragment of 109 folios, plus a sizable portion (65 folios) of its continuation, the Kitab al-Jamal wa masir 'A'isha wa 'Ali. By making this text available both in a facsimile edition and in a edition with short notes, Dr AL-Samarrai has given the study of Muslim historiography a new impetus' 1720g [Attributes: Hard Cover]
