Publishers Original dark grey cloth, the upper board and spine lettered in silver, original photo-illustrated dustjacket priceclipped. Unpaginated: frontispiece, [xi], followed by 84 full-page, black & white photo reproductions. Clean copy with jacket. The jacket missing a small piece at top of spine (see picture) otherwise only mildly edgeworn with minimal small tears. Winogrand was "a street photographer known for his portrayal of America in the mid-20th century. John Szarkowski called him the central photographer of his generation." Winogrand, Gary (1928-1984). In his introduction Winogrand notes, "Whenever I've seen an attractive woman, I've done my best to photograph her. I don't know if all the women in the photographs are beautiful, but I do know that the women are beautiful in the photographs. ...."Women Are Beautiful" is a good title for this book because they are".
