The Königsmark Drawings.
The Richards Press, London. 1952 - First edition. Small folio. Twelve page Introduction by Laurence Whistler; much of it is taken up by Rex Whistler's letters to A.E.W. Mason who commissioned these drawings as illustrations for his novel Königsmark. Laurence Whistler also provides a synopsis of the plot of the novel. The text and illustrations were never published together, and A.E.W. Mason seems to have had in mind simply keeping the drawings with his manuscript. Ten tipped-in plates.Number 205 of 950 copies.Spine a bit bruised at tail. Front free endpaper slightly creased. Near fine in rubbed slipcase with spotted label. [Attributes: First Edition]
