A Short View of Russia.
London: The Hogarth Press,, 1925. Octavo, pp. 28. Original light blue stiff paper wrappers printed in black. Slight wear to front joint, spine darkened, a few pale spots; a very good copy. First edition, first impression. "A Short View of Russia failed to sell very well at the start. Issued by [Leonard] Woolf in December 1925 as number thirteen in the two-year-old Hogarth Essays series, Keynes's pamphlet had sold only 700 copies by the end of February 1926. Perhaps his largely negative view of Soviet Russia told enthusiasts what they did not want to hear" (Willis, Leonard and Virginia Woolf as Publishers: The Hogarth Press, 1917-41, p. 219).
