Originally published anonymously, you can combine the first letter in each of the 24 short stories to get the following message:"The Author is Gelett Burgess". Contains the short story/ bibliomystery, "The Stolen Shakespeare". A Queen's Quorum title. "Being an account of the problems solved by Astro, seer of secrets and his love affair with Valeska Wynne, his assistant." A VERY GOOD + book in dark red cloth stamped in white on the front boards and the spine with blind stamped floral motifs as well. Spine and spine lettering darkened slightly and a trace of rubbing to ends. Book square. Tissue cover for frontis intact. Rubber stamp signature to front paste down, front free end paper and above the first story title, of Brig-Gen. H.H. Bandholtz. Bandholtz (December 18, 1864 ¿ May 11, 1925) was a United States Army career officer who served for more than a decade in the Philippines. He was a Major General during WWI, and the US representative of the Inter-Allied Military Mission in Hungary in 1919, where a memorial statue still stands in his honour in Budapest.
