Octavo (227 x 148 mm). Contemporary blue half morocco by Henry Sotheran of London, raised bands to spine with ruling and floral decoration in gilt, title to spine in gilt, gilt ruling to sides, marble endpapers, top edge gilt. Frontispiece portrait of author with tissue-guard, 2 facsimile plates of Shelley's handwriting. Gift inscription to binders blank. Some sunning to spine, slight rubbing to extremities, errata and addenda tipped-in, a few spots on fore-edge. An excellent copy. The editor explains in the preface that this work is a fresh collation of early editions of Shelley's poems. It also contains a preface by Mary Shelley for the first collected edition of Shelley in 1839.
