New Haven: Durrie & Peck, 1830. 2nd ed. Hardcover. Very Good. folding frontis, folding map, 372p. Original tree calf. 18cm. Cover scraped off a couple of spots on front cover. Mostly moderate foxing and browning although quite heavy on frontis and other leaves at beginning and end of text. Both frontis and map are a bit misfolded with some resulting edge-wear, wrinkles and creases. Folding map is partially colored and has a long tear, the latter probably the result of being carelessly unfolded. Brewer states in his Preface that, at the time of his visit, there were more Jews living in Constantinople than in any other city in the world.
