The Second Book: title + advertisement + vi + 114. 23 hors-texte engraved plates: frontis + 10 (one before each Fable in the first book) + 12 (one before each Fable in The Second Book). Plain paper-covered boards over grained cloth, gilt to spine. Boards rubbed and lightly marked. Late 20th century personal bookplate to front pastedown. Early owner's name and date (1793) in ink to flyleaf. Edges dusty. In the first book, a light stain affecting fore-edge margin of pp.28-40 and just-affecting margin of plate Fable V, though not touching image itself. Extrems slightly grubby. O/w contents clean and bright. Binding sound. A Very Good copy.
