One of 100 numbered copies; oblong 4to; original black cloth stamped in silver. Presentation copy inscribed on the front free endpaper: "To Frederic, with love from the photographer, Sir Humphrey, April 6th 1975". With three original photographs given by Spender and his second wife Pauline as Christmas cards to Frederic. Two pieces of ephemera relating to Spender's exhibition the Thirties and After. Atmospheric photographs of "Worktown", drawn from the archives of Mass-Observation. Near fine, boards slightly bowed.
