Fine condition.l Deluxe movie book. A grandiose homage to silent screen acting: 'Certain images struck me as weird and wonderful and I felt impelled to take them apart and put them together again - in another medium...' From the introduction by Frank Martin (1921-2005). That medium is the woodcut or the drypoint, both singularly apt for the expressive faces and gestures of silent screen actors and actresses. An absolutely wonderful book about film in deluxe version and in top condition. Frank Martin was the son of an early movie actress, and a pupil and good friend of John Buckland Wright.
