In contemporary full tree calf with gilt titles to red label on spine. Marbled endpapers.pp.227-230 beginning to come loose. Black ink ownership inscription to verso of front free endpaper. Joints split; upper quite fragile, still holding. Heavy wear to spine, edges and corners; headcap pulled away. Good overall. A collection of social letters focusing on domestic issues, intended to draw public attention to the importance of everyday virtue and common human decency. The sort of book one would expect to find protagonists reading in 'Pride and Prejudice' or 'Mansfield Park'.
