Campaign of the Fourteenth Army, 1943-44 [1944-45].
[Rawalpindi: 51 Printing Section RPE [Royal Pakistan Engineers], E-in-C's [Engineer-in-Chief's] Branch, GHQ,, 1947]. Octavo, pp. 16 and 42. Original green pebble-grain cloth, Fourteenth Army badge to front board in black. 21 maps with dispositions in colour (5 folding). A little wear to extremities of binding, a few marks to covers, some maps with slightly crude inked annotations and tape adhesions on verso (a few with subsequent tears). First edition. Extremely uncommon brief account - "confined to the action and movements of the major formations, and to the plans on which these were based" - which was "presented" by Slim as CIGS "for use by the Pakistan Armed Forces." This copy with the ownership inscription (dated "18/5/57") and stamp of the "Officers Mess 5/1 Punjab Regt" (front free endpaper); the Punjab Regiment, the senior regiment in the Pakistan Army, was formed in 1956. Copac cites Imperial War Museum only among British and Irish institutional libraries; OCLC adds three locations (Michigan, Texas and US Army Heritage).
