- Antique Master Print, untitled. Design (no. 8 from the series) for an architectural vase featuring two coiling snakes at the head, and depicting dancing Maenads around the side. Etching on hand laid paper. Description: From a series of 12 designs of vases (numbered 179 on ea. vase) in the antique manner: 'Illustrissimo et Reverendissimo eu D.D. Gualtero Gualterio de Castro ', published in Rome, 1657. State: 2nd of 2 (with numbering).Artists and Engravers: Made by 'J. Damery' after own design. Jean Damery was a French 17th. c. engraver active in Italy. Condition: Good, given age. Margin a little soiled, a faint stain in the lower margin. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully. Storage location: TPCRC-A2-30 The overall size is ca. 9.8 x 12.2 inch. The image size is ca. 5.5 x 7.9 inch. The overall size is ca. 24.8 x 30.9 cm. The image size is ca. 13.9 x 20.1 cm.
