- Antique print, untitled. Two soldiers and a kneeling woman. One of the soldiers stands guard, while the other decaptitates a female martyr (Catherine of Alexandria?). Etching in greyish ink with ink wash on hand laid (verge) paper. Description: From the series: 'Disegni originali di eccellenti pittori esistenti nella R.Galleria di Firenze incisi e imitati nelle loro grandezze e colori.'Artists and Engravers: Made by S. Mulinari after Federigo Zuccheri. Stefano Mulinari (ca. 1741 - ca. 1790), Italian engraver, pupil of Scacciati, engraved mostly etching/mezzotint combination after great Italian masters. Original late 18th c. Etching in greenish black. A typical wash is applied to the plate to create a watercolor kind of impression. This is typical for the work of Mulinari. Condition: Very goodl, given age. A few tiny stains in top margin of the print. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully. Storage location: LA-E1-14 The overall size is ca. 16.2 x 12.1 inch. The image size is ca. 14.9 x 10.9 inch. The overall size is ca. 41.1 x 30.7 cm. The image size is ca. 37.9 x 27.8 cm.
