- Plate : 'Le Bouquet - Die Blumen'. (The Bouquet). This plate shows an 18th century interior scene, a young boy gives a bouquet of flowers to a woman (his mother?). Below the image a poem in French and German. Etching and mezzotint engraving on hand-laid (verge) paper. Description: This original antique print was published ca. 1740.Artists and Engravers: This plate engraved by Haid. Johann Jakob Haid (1704-1767) was a German engraver who worked in Augsburg. His mezzotint engravings are well known - like his entire family is known for their mezzotint portraits. Condition: Fine/good. General age-related toning and light staining/soiling from handling as visible on image. Several imperfections; some creases and folds, a few repaired tears. A middle fold. Margins with many very small tears; backed. Please study scan carefully. Storage location: DP-B6-20 The overall size is ca. 12.8 x 16.1 inch. The image size is ca. 12.6 x 15.6 inch.
