- Original antique print, titled: 'Die Schone Schaffrin schmuckt ihr Liebes Schaffgen aus .'. It shows: ('The pretty shepherdess decorates her dear sheep') two shepherdesses seated near a sheep with a bow in its tail and a garland of flowers around its neck. A third (male) figure comes in from the left carrying a basket of flowers towards the ladies. With a caption in German below. Handcoloured engraving heightened with arabic gum, on a verge type handlaid paper. Description: Separately published German master print, published ca. 1750. Our definition of a Master Print is a seperately published print or series of prints, not being an illustrative print to a text. These can both be prints made by old masters (artists) or prints made by others (artists, engravers, etchers) after old masters.Artists and Engravers: Artist and engraver unknown, to be determined. Condition: Good, given age. The bottom edge dampstained (not affecting the image), a cluster of four pinholes in each of the corners. Creases along the platemark. General age-related toning and/or occasional minor defects from handling. Please study scan carefully, as it accurately reflects the condition of the print. Storage location: C257-24 The overall size is ca. 7.9 x 6.3 inch. The image size is ca. 7.1 x 5.5 inch. The overall size is ca. 20 x 16 cm. The image size is ca. 18 x 14 cm.
