A fine copy in 1/4 black cloth over red paper covered boards, gilt titles to the spine in a bright, fresh pictorial dustwrapper. Small 4to. 160 pp. A classic selection of Janet Flanner's ("GenĂȘt"), Letter From London articles, originally published in The New Yorker Magazine, just before World War ll. With a small Flanner archive of 5 holograph postcards and letters [1967-75] to Irving Drutman, [her close friend & editor] some with commentary by, Natalia Danesi Murray, broadcaster in the Italian division of the National Broadcasting Company and a life-long friend with whom Flanner lived in New York City during World War II. Their correspondence is recorded in Darlinghissima: Letters To A Friend, and their friendship recorded in William Murray's, Janet, My Mother, and Me: A Memoir of Growing Up With Janet Flanner and Natalia Danesi Murray.
