Green cloth boards, spine fading slightly, gilt text to spine, black ink text to front cover, corners and edges bumped. Internally, yellow endpapers, hinge papers cracked, [22], [14], tissue guarded frontis map, engraved title page, (vi), [2], 163 pp, [3], (ix), [1], 177-542 pp, [6], (v), 30, [2], 3, [41]. Jones, Theophilus, county historian, was in correspondence with a number of Welsh antiquaries, including Iolo Morganwg and his son Taliesin, Walter Davies (Gwallter Mechain), Edward Davies of Olveston, J. M. Treharne, and William Owen Pughe. He also wrote some essays, reviews, and published letters on Welsh history, tours, and antiquities in the Cambrian Register (1795, 1796) and in Archaeologia (1814). See ODNB for a full Bio.
