Near fine (front hinge cracked; small bookseller label in rear) in very good dustjacket (some wear to extremities; short closed tears; light fading to spine; fold line down spine). Hunter Liggett (1857-1935) was a lieutenant general of the United States Army. His forty-two years of service spanned the period from the Indian campaigns to the Spanish-American & Philippine-American Wars to trench warfare during World War I. In his honor the United States Army named a base on California's central coast, Fort Hunter Liggett.
