Harrison, Emma Florence. 368 pages. 26 1/2 x 22 cm. 36 tipped-in color plates with lettered tissue guards, and 34 full-page black and white illustrations, plus illustrated chapter headings. Harrison studied at the Glasgow School of Art in the late 1880's where Charles Renne Mackintosh and others developed the Glasgow Style reflected here in English Art Nouveau and Pre-Raphaelite illustration, and carried through in her career illustrating poetry and children's books. Christina Rossetti considered an important women's poet of 19th century England, she also gained fame as a model for Pre-Raphaelite painters, including her brother, Dante Gabriel Rossetti. Bright, very clean copy, free front endpaper chipped at edge.
