The Dawn Breakers; Nabil's Narrative of the Early Days of the Bahai Revelation
Baha'i Publication Committee, New York 1932 - Color Frontis, facsimile manuscript; b&w photos; 4to 11" - 13" tall; 685 pages; 1932 Baha'i Publication Committee, New York. 1st edition. Large 4to in HC in original grained, leather-like green cloth with title design brightly in gilt to spine; rules and pictorial emblem in gilt to upper board. Soundly bound and generally solid with clean unmarked text. Illustrated with tissue guarded color frontis, 19 tissue guarded facsimile of bab's manuscript tablets and hundreds of B&W photos in text, along with two folding tables. This copy is ex-library but with milder than usual institutional indications; trace catalog number residue in white to base of spine, bookplate at front and call slip and card pocket at rear. Light shelf bumping to front corners of the boards; trace fray to cloth at crown of spine. A cornerstone book of the Baha'i Religion, "Dawn-Breakers" is exceptionally uncommon in the original 1932 edition. This copy is aesthically marred by prior institutional ownership but is snug and clean and could be restored or rebound according to an owner's preference. G++ thus . Oversize book will require additional charges for most shipping methods. (Note that we have several other early Bahai book by this other, Efendi and others. ) [Attributes: First Edition; Hard Cover]
