London Almanack for the year of Christ, 1787
London: Printed for the Company of Stationers, 1786 (?). 64mo. Miniature book (60 mm tall), engraved throughout. Unpaginated (but 26 pages), with each leaf printed on one side only. Contemporary binding of red, cream, and black morocco, elaborately gilt, marbled endpapers, duty stamp on title in red ink. In sparkling condition. Preserved in original matching leather slipcase (a bit worn but perfectly sound). The whole ensemble is enclosed in a fine, ingeniously designed protective case. A remarkable, and well-preserved English miniature book, engraved throughout, which is distinguished not only by the exceptional binding (and its original matching slipcase), but by the inclusion of a double-page view of the Apothecaries' Hall at Black Friars, London. Of this edition Worldcat locates three copies only: UVa, McGill, and the Sutton-Smith Library of Play at Rochester, to which COPAC and ESTC add BL and Folger. ESTC T127696. Welsh 4579 (?)
