Printed at the Apollo Press, by Belknap and Hall, Boston, (Massachusetts) 1792 - First American edition. 12mo. Two volumes: 316; 316pp. Contemporary calf (remains of a small paper label at head of spines), leather spine labels. Owner's stamp on front pastedowns and foredges, lower corners of a few leaves rumpled, but a very good copy. Mackenzie (1745-1831), a Scottish novelist called the "Addison of the North," edited this literary periodical, its genesis coming from a reading of the Spectator, between January 23, 1779, and May 27, 1780; all issues are present in this edition.
