M. Brunswick & Co. 1895 - FAIR/FAIR. Collection of 107 undated (circa 1895)hand-painted/stenciled lithographs and photographs of fruit and fruit trees in a black leather agent book, all lithographs and photos are "pocket sized," approx. 6'' x 9'', all show wear and light soiling, some have pencil notes written on them, as well as pencil stenciling, collection appears to be missing one plate, most binding ribbons are intact with the exception of one near the middle. Agent book is heavily faded and chipped, frayed corners and edges, sunned edges, does not close properly. According to the University of Rochester, Mina (or Minnie) Brunswick (1849-Rochester, September 9, 1925) was listed in the Rochester city directories as a producer of fruit plates or nurserymen's plates from 1888 through 1920. Her first advertisement, in the 1889 directory, reads in part: "M. Brunswick & Co., (Formerly with D. M. Dewey), Manufacturers of Hand Painted Fruit and Ornamental Plates." Rochester University further states that by the 1910s Brunswick appears to have been the last producer of hand-painted (stenciled) plates in Rochester.
