(xii), 74 pp. Bilingual edition with German and English on facing pages; English translation by Stephen Garmey and Jay Wilson. With a previously unpublished translation of a letter from Rilke to Witold von Hulewicz replying to his questions on the Elegies; translated by Stephen Garmey. Book design by Joel Friedlander. Illustration of Duino Castle by Liza Casey. Handset in Van Dijck and Lutetia types. A fine copy in slightly rubbed slipcase. Peter Bishop founded The Petrarch Press in 1985 with the goal of publishing important classical literature in fine, hand-printed editions produced to the very highest standards. He retired from printing about ten years later and it is now uncommon to find publications of The Petrarch Press from the Peter Bishop era.
