, 1976. 1976. Hardcover. Fair. 11 large glossy photos (20 x 25cm.) inserted one to a page on both sides of 6 album leaves. The photos are followed by about 56 leaves printed on one side containing photocopies of American newspaper articles about Tolbert's visit to the United States. Looseleaf three-hole punch notebook. 30cm. Front cover detached. Album sheet are the kind that have narrow horizontal bands of stickum so all except the first two photos are rather firmly stuck down. Typed captions attached to base of all except first photo. Inscription along inner margin of first album leaf: "With Compliments of the Financial Counselor (Geo B. Cooper)." Photos of President Tolbert and President Gerald Ford as well as their wives and other officials at official White House events; Tolbert addressing the National Press Club and a Joint Session of Congress; Tolbert being toasted by Frank Rizzo, Philadelphia's controversial mayor; Tolbert touching the Liberty Bell; Tolbert visiting Colonial Williamsburg and the Atlanta grave site of Martin Luther King, Jr.; and Tolbert addressing the General Assembly of the United Nations. Tolbert was killed in the 1980 coup d'etat.
