Auriga-Verlag, Berlin 1925 - Quarto. (8) 43pp. Original true state photo-illustrated paper-covered boards with black and white lettering on cover. Subsequently produced by Origa in three other formats. 43 b/w dramatic photographs of the figures placed at the rows of benches in the choir stalls of the monastery church, built in the courtyard of the Kappenberg castle. The photographs are taken by the German photographer of the so called New Objectivity Albert Renger-Patzsch. New Objectivity characterizes a style and attitude towards functional work in Weimar, Germany, up to the reign of National Socialism in the 1930s. Two b/w postcards with motifs of Kappenberg artwork laid in. Text in German. Binding with wear along edges, small chips and stains, a two inch closed tear at tail of spine joint and rubbed. "*Fröhliche 35*" penciled on title page and inked note with asterisk in margin of page 42. Block lightly age toned with wavy paper in lower corner at spine throughout.
