Tanks 1914-1918. The Log Book of a Pioneer.
London: Hodder and Stoughton, 1919 - Octavo. Original blue cloth, titles gilt to spine, tank device to front board. With the dust jacket. An excellent copy, trivial nicks to ends and corners, the jacket a little spotted and marked, with a few tiny closed tears to extremities, and two patches of internal tape repair to foot of spine, but still an exceptional survival. Portrait frontispiece and 45 other plates, illustrations to the text. First edition, first impression, with the rare dust jacket, and inscribed by the author, "To my friend George Roberts, most grateful for his assistance & encouragement, from the author, Albert G. Stern, Feb. 1920". "Several important books have been written on tanks, but this work of Sir Albert Stern's is unlikely to be superseded in its own class. the tone is highly controversial" (Falls). Falls p.79 [Attributes: First Edition; Signed Copy]
