London Types.
R.H. Russell, New York., 1898. First U.S.A. edition (from U.K. sheets). Small folio. Twelve lithograph plates, after coloured woodcuts by William Nicholson. Facing each plate is a quatorzain by W.E. Henley, printed in a typeface designed by Nicholson. Original cloth-backed boards - the pictorial cover is also a lithograph. The subjects of the plates are some of the familiar denizens of the London streets: flower-sellers, newspaper boys, policemen, etc. Upper corners bruised. Cover edges just a little rubbed. Very good, internally bright.
