F.G. Deschamps: Paris 1776 - Appeared in "Atlas Céleste de Flamsteed approuvé par l’Académie Royale des Sciences, et publié sous le privilège de cette Compagnie" by FORTIN, published by F.G. Deschamps in Paris, 1776. Dimensions: 18 x 23 cm. Condition: very good. Wide margins. Verso: blank. Small highly decorative star chart is based on a chart by an English astronomer John Flamsteed (1646 – 1719). Flamsteed was an English astronomer and the first Astronomer Royal, who catalogued over 3000 stars. The cart was published in a French celestial Atlas Atlas Celeste de Flamsteed, issued in Paris in 1776. In this work Flamsteed's maps were revised by a French maker of scientific instruments Jean Nicolas Fortin (1750–1831) [Attributes: Hard Cover]
