Be Quiet and Go a-Angling
Lutterworth Press, London 1949 - Teal cloth with silver spine titles and cover decoration; 8vo; 200pp; illustrated with frontispiece, 15 chapter head-piece and 9 full-page wood-cut style drawings by the author; yellow pictorial dust jacket. Traherne was a pen-name used by "B.B." or D.J. Watkins-Pitchford. He writes lyrically about his fishing experiences: "it is a book of moods and recollections, of thoughts and feelings." From the dj flap, " .this is a book which will bring pleasure and deep satisfaction to every discerning fisherman-and, indeed, to every reader who has the good fortune to possess a copy." The covers of the book are heavily spotted. Internally, a former owner's name sticker to front free endpaper, text block clean. The uncommon jacket shows moderate wear and soiling. [Attributes: First Edition; Hard Cover]
