New York: Wiley & Putnam, 1847. Very Good. First American edition. Two volumes bound as one. 136pp., 171pp. Original blind embossed blue cloth, gilt-stamped spine. Pages lightly age-toned and foxed, minimal ex-library markings on endpapers and spine, "Henry Perkins, Bookseller, Philadelphia" label on front pastedown, about very good with spine and edges faded. The book details Fanny Kemble's traveling experiences in Italy, interspersed with some poems, whilst separated from her husband Pierce Butler, a United States Founding Father and one of the largest slaveholders in America.
