Re-edited with forewords describing all the accessible books, tales and ballads in Captain Cox's list and the Complaynt of Scotland 1548-9. 8vo, approximately 220 x 140 mm, 8½ x 5¾ inches, engraved folding plan of Kenilworth Castle at page 63, 1 small text illustration, pages: clxxxii, 1-87, bound in half morocco, gilt lettering and rules to spine, cloth covers, marbled endpapers, top edge gilt, Slight fading to spine, pale foxing affecting many margins and engraved plan, foxing at rear affects several pages of text, small private library label to top of first pastedown (West Dean Library), otherwise a very good tight copy.
