Exercitien voor een Compagnie Grenadiers Bestaande In het Manuaal & d'Evolutien.
. Folio (32,9 x 21,1 cm). (2), 49 pp. Contemporary calf, spine with 5 raised bands and gilt-tooled flower-decorations and red morocco label, covers with blind-tooled frame, board-edges gilt-decorated. Calligraphed title. An interesting, unpublished, 18th-century Dutch military manuscript, neatly written on 49 text-pages, with instructions on exercises and battle-situations of grenadiers, illustrated with 26 drawings in ink, nine of them full-page and partly-coloured. The manuscript has been written in 1738 by A:N: van Aerssen van Meeteren, but it might be a copy of an unpublished manuscript from 1688 by Captain Jan Backer, of whom nothing could be found. Covers with a few chafed spots, but otherwise a well-kept copy. The probable author became later lieutenant-general and military commander of Deventer. A few chafed spots to covers, but otherwise a well-kept copy. For a full description and more images please visit our website: .
