Collection of 12 Silent Movie Playbills/Advertisements from 1916 to Early 1920s.
NP: , c1920. Single sheet announcements, printed on both sides, each illustrated with photographs, sizes vary from 6” x 6” to 9” x 11”. Condition varies, normal aging, one has torn corner and small hole in the middle, a couple with some slight tears, folds or chips in the margins, one trimmed close to border, one has a couple of slight creases, most have dated rubber stamp marks, which appear to belong in designated space; otherwise mostly good to very good. Interesting collection of movie advertisements from the early days of the motion picture industry. Films include Black Beauty. The Italian, The Country Boy, The Law Decides, The Typhoon, The Lights of New York, and The Mutiny of the Elsinore. Most of the films were made by Paramount Pictures, but a couple were produced by Vitagraph. Film stars include Noah Beery, Sr., Frank Andrews, Dorothy Kelly, William H. Crane, Tex Driscoll, Jean Paige, and Edward Lewis. Nice small collection of movie memorabilia.
