"After Marsilio Ficino had completed his Latin translation from the Greek in 1463, he asked his friend Tommaso Benci (1427-1470) to produce a version in Tuscan. This circulated in Manuscript. This first Italian edition was edited by Carlo Lenzoni and Corpus Hermeticum (bibliography) 51; Adams (Cambridge) H 350; Gamba 1515; Ferguson I: 389 (the 1549 edition). This copy has stamps of "William Morley Middle Temple" on title page and last leaf. An inscription on a prliminary leaf in ink reads"From Beauchamp to his kind friend William Morley This appears to be a William Morly of Glynde, Sussex one of whom built Glynde Place in 1569. Lamp oil stains on first fly leaf carry less to second and touches to title page.OB 289. VG; bound in full modern leather.
