RIPOSTES OF EZRA POUND. Whereto Are Appended The Complete Poetical Works Of T. E. Hulme With Prefatory Note.
London: Stephen Swift and Co. 1912. First edition. First edition. Inscribed presentation copy. Publisher’s original grey cloth with titles in gilt to the upper board. Page edges untrimmed. A very good or better copy, the binding firm with a little bumping to the corners and toning to the spine. The contents are toned to the text block edge (due to the poor quality paper used in production) otherwise clean throughout. As with most author’s presentation copies of this title the adverts have been removed from the rear (said to have been removed by Pound after the failure of the publisher). Scarce in inscribed state. Inscribed by the author in black ink on the front free endpaper “To/ Frank Rummel / with the author’s friendship / 1913 / E.P.” The recipient Frank Morse Rummel was the brother of the composer Walter Morse Rummel, who was a friend and collaborator with Pound on Canzoni (1911), Hesternae Rosae (1913), and other works. [Gallup A8a]. Further details and images for any of the items listed are available on request. Lucius Books welcomes direct contact with our customers.
