A handsome set in near fine condition. First edition. 3 vols. 12mo. The first and best of Morier's Eastern Novels. Morier (1780-1849), one of a family of diplomates, traveled widely to Tehran, Constantinople, and Brazil. "After the publication of his second book of travels he began a seriers of tales and romances, chiefly laid in Eastern scenes, of which the first and best was 'The adventures of Hajji Baba of Ispahan'. The humor and insight into oriental life displayed in this oriental 'Gil Blas' immediiaterly siezed the popular fancy.
