London, A Strahan, 1799. Three volumes : Vols. I, II and III: Ninth edition: Full leather contemporary brown leather bindings, 8.25 x 5.25 inches approx, acceptably clean and sound but showing signs of use, cracking and chipping to tops and bottoms of spines gilt titles to spines on fixed dark green leather labels, cracking at hinges, corners slightly bumped, volume numbers being gilt on small red background, plain endpapers with no inscriptions, Volume I: some loss to leather on back board probably worm damage, 499 pages, very mild foxing in places. Volume II plain endpapers showing squiggles of worm damage to front endpapers, the piercing through the pages caused by the worm's appetite reaches through i-vi through to page 8, this does not however prevent the reading of the text, 518 pages followed by Appendix, soiling to closed page edges, Volume III well used, quite scuffed to front board and back board some of this is due to insect damage, top and bottom of spine has a narrow area of loss, title readable, 465 pages followed by index, not quite as sound as the other two volumes but contents reasonably tight and clean.
