Scott's New Coast Pilot for the Lakes
The Free Press Co.. Hardcover. Detroit, 1888. Second edition. Large octavo, paper covered boards, 301 pp. A fascinating early title on the Great Lakes in its second edition. Text block begins at Preface, which suggests that the copy lacks prelims, though all title information is on the cover and worldcat entry does not specify whether a separate title page or preliminary pages exist. Hinges are split but holding, cover is quite worn, text block is about very good with some normal wear and a few dog-eared pages. Cover is heavily worn with writing legible but faint. A few pages of advertisements loose at rear. Book is in good-minus condition overall. Contains maps, a complete list of lights, lighthouses, signals and buoys, and quite a bit of other information about the Great Lakes. OCLC 23309859, with three copies publicly held. Quite scarce. . Good. 1888. Second Edition.
