2008 - 4/50 COPIES signed by the author, colophon separate on twice-folded sheet, stitched in a stiff translucent wrapper embossed with publisher's device, small bead pull sewn to fore-edge, 'textblock' composed of three accordion-folded leaves stitched together at central folds to create a group of 'strands' with the text on panels extending from the right-hand side of central body, abstract design screen-printed in black on reverse, unpaginated, square 64mo, 'textblock' contained in stiff translucent cube chemise, housed within wooden white-varnished box with lid (8.5 x 8.5cm), title scratched into front panel of box, abstract design printed in blue on rear panel, colophon loosely held in pocket inside lid, pocket embossed with publisher's device, fine. The bookbinders and artists Kula Kalentzi and Luc Rombouts formed fine bindery Atelier Luka in 1994. Participating in a miniature book design contest in 1999 inspired the duo to set up the off-shoot Edition Kapa, which specialises in designing and publishing contemporary miniature books. Stranded, the sixth book from Edition Kapa, contains three previously unpublished tankas on the themes of light and hope, written by Perryman 'decades ago.' The art by Kalentzi, sparse lines building into a veritable storm of crosshatching, creates the visual effect of heavy rain or encroaching dark - or approaching light, depending on which way you look at it.
