WHO HAS SEEN THE WIND
Macmillan, Toronto 1947 - First issue binding in the first issue jacket. Octavo, red cloth. Spine has soft creases and one light soil spot; light foxing to top page edges; two small holes to front inner hinge caused by binding threads); boards just a little bit bowed, as often; light yellowing to page 1 and facing blank from original Eaton's sales slip, still laid in; else a VG+ clean, bright and unworn copy, no owner names. The dust jacket has light sunning to the red portions of the spine, with mild rubbing at bottom; nicks and minor rubbing at top; one inch closed tear to upper outer corner of front panel; very small rubbed chips to outer corners; half inch closed slit to upper inner margin of front panel; mild foxing to rear panel and both flaps; in all VG, flap price intact. For this book, the condition of the jacket is very much better than the norm. The jacket is a bit too tall for the book, so copies usually have at least nicks along the top edge, and the red portions of the spine are very fade prone. Copies in fine / fine condition are nigh impossible to find - I've seen only one in 35 years. The text of this edition was some 7000 words longer than the US edition, but it was the US text which was the basis of all subsequent editions until 1991. The US edition preceded by 10 days. A CanLit Highspot. [Attributes: First Edition; Hard Cover]
